June 21, Sat. 4:00 pm- Swedish Midsummer, SLC. Come out to the park for a bit of Svenska partying at the Swedish Heritage Society of Utah Midsummer Celebration. Midsummer is one of the year's great family holidays in Sweden. A midsummer pole decorated with leaves and flowers is erected and children and families dance around it. A Swedish smorgÄsbord of herring, potatoes, and other dishes are served. The event is free, but there is a charge for the dinner. The dinner will be catered by "A Viking's Feast". The cost for adults is $9 and children 10 and under is $7. This event will take place at The International Peace Gardens, 1060 S. 900 W in Salt Lake City. Meet on the grass in front of the stage, and look for the group around a CALM sign. There are tons of activities for Taylorsville Dayzz, and more details are provided here: http://www.taylorsvilleut.gov/ This is the best fireworks show in the state in Kent's opinion. Parking: Tayorsville sets aside the field behind the library and pool for parking. Just turn into the driveway between the library and pool and follow the directions. Taylorsville does an excellent job of directing traffic so the crowd and traffic clear out quickly. (No hours stuck in traffic).
